I like the sleeves better on this one. All of our old family portraits I have seen have gathered sleeves. Although I like the silk for the last pattern.Jennifer Bristowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15790772023813929062noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8343802.post-31581106900241529852009-12-21T00:23:07.161-05:002009-12-21T00:23:07.161-05:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.COCOWUhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01803226298318602392noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8343802.post-2017348389146640212009-10-16T10:43:06.691-04:002009-10-16T10:43:06.691-04:00I have used the 4551 pattern before in making a da...I have used the 4551 pattern before in making a day dress for a friend. It turned out quite well, and it's a nice simple pattern that isn't too time consuming, even though it seemed like the cartrige pleating took FOREVER. I think you should definately use the plaid for this one!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8343802.post-48468715012492245062009-10-11T04:06:26.935-04:002009-10-11T04:06:26.935-04:00Definitely the homespun with the gathered bodice. ...Definitely the homespun with the gathered bodice. I don't like the last pattern at all, so I would do the second for the purple. The Dreamstresshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17897608732348842792noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8343802.post-32280571884988071782009-10-10T21:58:09.543-04:002009-10-10T21:58:09.543-04:00I think if you plan to make one of the two pagoda-...I think if you plan to make one of the two pagoda-sleeved bodices/gowns from the silk, then use the plaid for the more middle-class dress with the gathered bodice. That way you have two totally different costumes, since the two pagoda bodices are relatively the same. That's my vote!American Duchesshttp://americanduchess.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8343802.post-42171016516888772502009-10-10T16:34:01.061-04:002009-10-10T16:34:01.061-04:00The homespun would look prettiest and most authent...The homespun would look prettiest and most authentic as the gathered bodice dress. The silk would be stunning for the basque bodice and skirt!!! That's my vote! Happy sewing!Lindseyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12997514607291740440noreply@blogger.com
